This 5 hour course combines the requirements of the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) with that of the Utah Concealed Weapon Permit (CFP).  4 hours in the classroom and an hour on the range will enhance your knowledge of how a handgun functions and how to use it safely.  In this course we will review:

• Maryland, Utah and Federal gun laws
• Basic Safety Rules
• Firearm Types and Actions
• Ammunition Function and Selection
• Malfunctions and Stoppage Drills
• Use of Deadly Force
• Interaction with Law Enforcement
• Interstate Travel with Firearms

Students should plan to bring:

• 50 rounds of ammunition
• Boxed lunch
• Firearm, 2-3 magazines (will be provided if necessary)
• Weather appropriate clothing as we will shoot rain or shine
• Quality eye and ear protection (will be provided if necessary)
