Defensive Carbine is all about establishing the fundamental skills with a carbine to allow you to meet your personal training goals. Often, that means identifying bad habits and correcting them. For new shooters, it is giving you the tools you need to practice correctly in the first place so you never have to go through the process of un-learning bad habits! This course will give you the experience and skills to continue to develop effective habits on your own, enabling you to progress to what ever level of proficiency you choose to achieve.

This course will cover the following:

Fundamentals of carbine safety, operation and marksmanship
Disassembly/reassembly, care and maintenance
Accessories and gear placement
Zeroing procedures, holds, barrel/sight relationship
Provide training for reloads and malfunctions
Progress from engaging single targets to multiple targets in single strings of fire
Require you to engage both paper and steel targets
Induce fire under stress scenarios using timed and competitive strings of fire
Provide techniques to allow you shoot and move as well as shoot on the move

Students should plan to bring:

350-400 rounds of ammunition (available for purchase)
Firearm, 2-3 magazines, sling, magazine pouch (Loaner available @ $45)
Cleaning kit, lubrication supplies
Weather appropriate clothing as we will shoot rain or shine
Quality eye and ear protection (will be provided if necessary)
Boxed lunch, water, sunscreen, etc...

Deposit due at time of registration. Deposits are non-refundable but may be applied to a future class if rescheduled within 72 hours of class.
