This 5 hour course exceeds the requirements of the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL). 4 hours in the classroom and an hour on the range will enhance your knowledge of how a handgun functions and how to use it safely. In this course we will review:

Maryland and Federal gun laws
Basic Safety Rules
Firearm Types and Actions
Ammunition Function and Selection
Malfunctions and Stoppage Drills
Use of Deadly Force
Interaction with Law Enforcement
Interstate Travel with Firearms
Students should plan to bring:
50 rounds of brass cased, 9mm ammunition
Boxed lunch
Weather appropriate clothing as we will shoot rain or shine
Quality eye and ear protection (will be provided if necessary)
